How many times have you heard the old saying “Go west, young man!” in your lifetime? Well, this fall the BFA will gather near where the westward expansion of our nation kicked off in the early 1800s, in the lovely city of Saint Charles, Missouri, on the banks of the Missouri River near Saint Louis.
Our hosts for this year’s gathering are Marsha and John Miller, who have invited us to their home in Saint Charles for our Friday evening Annual Meeting and Meet & Greet.

The Embassy Suites St. Louis/St. Charles was our host hotel. Member met at the hotel before the meeting and at breakfast prior to the tours.
On Saturday morning, we carpoole to the Downtown Saint Charles Historic District, with its French Colonial and early German buildings along main street. 
We walked to the Lewis & Clark Boat House & Museum to see the last civilized settlement that they saw before heading out to explore the new Louisiana Purchase lands, which stretched all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
Lunch was on our own in the downtown. We explored the river walk along the Missouri River on the way to lunch.
In the afternoon, we carpooled to the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, Saint Louis.
Saturday evening we had our final dinner at Spiro’s Restaurant, 2275 Bluestone Drive, Saint Charles.
